  • Open Call

We are excited to announce a new open call for small-scale Riso publications, made possible through the opening of the DomestiCity Riso Print Atelier. Our studio is equipped with a Riso printer, folding tools, cutting tools, and a stapler, enabling artists, designers, writers, and researchers to produce their own independent publications.

For this edition, we are particularly interested in projects that relate to the themes of Craft, Commonism, and Micro-Politics. These topics also guide and nourish DomestiCity’s Living Library, and play an important role in shaping our artistic programme. We therefore welcome proposals that engage with these ideas in experimental, critical, poetic, or research-based ways.

When we come to a agreement about a publication you can expect acces to the Riso Print Atelier, technical support during the printing process, and the opportunity to publish your work as part of DomestiCity’s growing small-press collection.

If you would like to participate, please send us:

    Financing
As DomestiCity—and particularly the printing studio—operates without external funding, each publication is realized through a collective effort. We provide access to the tools, equipment, and ink; in return, we ask contributors to supply their own paper.
For the distribution of the final publications, we work with a simple cost-recovery model: both DomestiCity and the artist/researcher first recoup the production expenses. After these costs are covered, the remaining revenue is split 75% for the artist/researcher and 25% for DomestiCity.

We look forward to receiving your ideas and supporting new voices and formats within small-scale publishing. Contact : Domesticitybrussels@gmail.com
